This song is about

lyrics

I’ve lived a life of underappreciated wonders, trivial occurrences, and mild inconveniences,

I’ve seen original Van Gogh’s and Dali’s, and doodles of colonial houses and circumcised penises,

I’ve seen the pyramids of Egypt, the castles of Belgium, the porta-potties of disney world, and the used condoms in the lesser-known relatively-hidden spots of my hometown,

I’ve seen the rise of men, but it’s never been enough to stop the fall of man, the kings don’t want you to know who’s in charge anymore, they no longer wear crowns,

I keep mementos of every girl that has told me they love me,
some of them broken, most of them not very clever,
to remind me of my potential , that it didn't and doesn’t have to be this way for me,
some of them reminders of mistakes I hope to never make again, some of them tokens to what I shouldn’t have severed,

some of them broken, most of them not very clever,

I keep them all in a drawer with a number lock on it, I have the combination memorized,

after all these things that I’ve seen and all these things that I’ve done, it’s a lot to analyze and categorize,

they all kind of blend together in my mind,

while some things stick out, everything fades away over time.

I’ve been enthralled by works of fiction and personalities of reality, only to see my favorite character die at the end,

an interesting character has always meant more to me than a good person, and I’ve started to notice a lot more trends,

even if someone believes wholeheartedly that their life is in someone else’s hands, following someone else’s plan, they still look both ways before crossing the street,

everyone does only what they want given the circumstances, like dogs performing tricks for a treat,

people appreciate what someone has to say a whole lot more if they already appreciate the person saying it.

Take your hat off kid, put your gym shorts on, no it don't make any sense, but that’s okay, you better do what we say, or we’ll take your points away,

stand up and tell that piece of cloth that you believe in god, now sit down and shut up, you got a test to take, if you wanna live your live you better keep up your grades,

you better keep up you better keep up you better keep up

just memorize and regurgitate, it doesn’t matter your potential, what you learn or remember, but how many red marks you get on this piece of paper,

between day dreaming and half sleeping, between name calling and bell ringing I never learned a god damned thing,

well they say, we need to learn our history, but we don’t learn from our mistakes we just learn about them, history will repeat itself either way,

contemporary wars, may gain public support, but a couple of years will put them in the past tense, where they will never make much sense,

Dolly Madison, saves the painting of George Washington, from the fire that the British light, to her precious home of white,

oh but I don’t care, I don’t see that painting anywhere, Dolly Madison and all her happenings do not concern me,

and Napoleon wasn’t quite as short as they said he was, but yet they say it still because it works better with their theories,

and Martin Luther King wasn’t quite killed by who they said he was, but yet they teach it still because it works better with their dreams,

And what of these dreams of mine, are they even my dreams at all, even to be a rock star or a movie star wasn’t my idea,

I had to get out of there, I had to go anywhere, I’d be a slave until the day I graduate,

But I've been everywhere, yeah I've seen too much to care, but I'm sure that I'll die with the feeling that there’s something I've yet to do,

Well, I never tried drugs, self-help books, or joining a cult, but I’m pretty sure that nothing’s gonna change my view.

I went to school, I learned all the rules, and the best way around them,

disregard the tool, fight the fool, support the surrounded,

but there was too much to resolve, not enough has evolved,

after a while I decided not to get involved,

I slipped into the role of the disappointed spectator,

forever left unnoticed by actors on the screen and the players in the game, who keep doing what they’re doing regardless of how I feel or what I say,

mocking the ignorant participator,

who occasionally deeply disturbed by one or more factors of the events in which he is involved, taking the joke far too seriously, as other people try to explain.

If it’s not funny, then why the fuck is everyone laughing
